Gail A. Thompson CA

 

 

Gail is the managing partner at Shpak & Company Chartered Accountants. She has a BBA from SFU, is a Chartered Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner.

She is responsible for Canadian Personal Tax and focuses on financial statement preparation and tax planning for the remainder of the year.  She deals primarily with owner managed small to medium sized businesses.

 


Mario Costa, CA


Mario joined Shpak & Company in 2003  after obtaining his Chartered Accountant designation .    He completed  his Bachelor of Arts degree and Diploma in Accounting at UBC in 1999/2000.

 Mario provides private companies and individuals with comprehensive accounting services including  both  income tax preparation  and  annual financial statement preparation.  Mario enjoys working with his clients to help them achieve their goals and resolve issues in a time effective manner.


Garreth Barker

 

Garreth graduated from the BCIT Financial Management Diploma program in 2006. In 2011 he obtained his Bachelor of Applied Business Administration degree from SAIT.

Currently he is a PACE level student in the CGA program. Garreth works with many of our small businesses to complete their year end financial needs and also answers questions on accounting and taxation throughout the year. Garreth is also involved with preparing personal tax returns for our clients.

 



Paula McElroy


Paula joined Shpak & Company in October 2008 after many years of working as a bookkeeper for several local small businesses. Paula is a certified Pro Advisor for QuickBooks and a certified Gold Consultant for Simply Accounting.

Paula assists our clients with their internal bookkeeping including bank reconciliations, GST/HST, payroll and accounting software training. Paula also assists with personal income tax preparation, T slip reporting and file preparation. Outside of work, Paula is an active member of our local community and is very involved with the Girl Guides of Canada.

 


Barb Connorton


Barb is the Office Manager of Shpak & Company.  She is in charge of all Office Administration and supervises this part of the team.  Barb also greets many clients as they arrive at the office.

Barb is involved with year-end financial statement assembly.  Loyalty is a trademark of Barb’s with the firm and our clients.


Julie Grierson


Julie joined Shpak & Company in September 2009 as our office assistant. She will quite often be the first to greet you as you come through the door or phone the office. Julie performs a variety of tasks to help keep the office running smoothly. She is responsible for maintaining updates for our computer software programs and keeping our client database current.

Julie also publishes our newsletter and is involved with year end financial statement assembly.


Phil Woolford


Phil joined Shpak & Company in October 2009. He has over 10 years of accounting experience in small and medium sized manufacturing businesses
in the UK.

His focus is on financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, and assisting with Canadian personal income tax preparation.
